Meet sweet Harper.

Isn’t she GORGEOUS?  I could have photographed her for DAYS.  Days, yall.  She was such a great sleeper and her nursery was AMAZING.  I had so much fun working with her super sweet parents in their Charlotte area home.  One of the reasons I still travel to my clients after all these years is that I love shooting in their homes…it gives the session such a personal feel.  While it may be easier to have clients travel to me, I’m told it’s definitely easier on them to have me in their home!  Plus I’m such a sucker for a bright and airy nursery in particular, and Harper had exactly that.

After losing myself in some awesome lifestyle photographs, we got down to business with posing.  While newborn generally steal the show, her sweet fur sibling hopped in on a few precious images, which was definitely right up my alley!  I’m a huge advocate of incorporating things that are special to each individual family, be it a furry sibling, a favorite book series, or a family heirloom.  As a result, we get lots of unique one of a kind images!

Here are my favorites from Harper’s newborn session.  Enjoy!

The peach orchards in Fort Mill South Carolina are a sight to see every Spring.  They bloom in April for about two weeks with the most beautiful shockingly pink flowers.  We never know exactly when the blooms will reach their peak so everyone is stalking the orchards come April every year!  This year was a little out of the ordinary… we had unseasonably warm weather at the beginning of the month, which led to the trees blooming about two weeks earlier than they’ve ever bloomed.  Then, a few days later the temperatures plummeted and we got SNOW.  Yes, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Carolinas!
The Ockers family has been a client/friend of mine since they were pregnant with their oldest son.  Now they have three gorgeous kiddos, and we finally were able to venture out into the orchards for their daughter’s milestone session.  The snow and freezing temps did alter the beautiful pink blooms quite a bit, but there was a bit of pink left and we were determined to make this happen.  We had a wonderful session despite mother nature’s attempts, and captured some really special images that Mom loved.

Meet sweet Lucy, the third gorgeous baby I’ve had the honor of photographing for the G family.   I’ve loved coming back over the years to see how big her siblings have grown.  We had a wonderful morning in their South Charlotte home just cuddling and snuggling on Lucy.  Those no-fuss captures are quickly becoming my favorite style of images.  They’re so relaxed, and especially with toddler siblings it just allows them to be themselves and check baby out.  Afterwards, of course we settled in for some posed newborn images – my specialty – which this girl nailed like a champ!
